Do you like to do things but not alone? The Singles Group is where you can join with others for all kinds of activities and fun events. Dori Wallace chairs the group.  Her goal is to have two or more fun things to do each month. Regular planning meetings are held at the Center on the second Friday of each month at 1:30 pm.  Dori can be reached at 610-398-0142.

Monday, April 8:  This month’s Senior Science Monday program at the DaVinci Science Center features St. Luke’s cancer expert Dr. Richard Boulay who will give a thorough overview on cancer. The lecture is 1:00-2:00 p.m. and light refreshments will be provided.  Located on the campus of Cedar Crest College in Allentown, it is the building with the wind turbine.  Admission of $5.00 entitles you to the lecture and light refreshments, as well as the opportunity to explore all of the museum’s exhibits.


Wednesday, April 10:  The noon movie at LVAL is the romance/comedy “Crazy Rich Asians.”  An American-born Chinese economics professor travels to Singapore for her boyfriend’s best friend’s wedding, where she finds out that her boyfriend is incredibly rich and the target of all the single women in his social class.  They would love to take her place.  PG-13.  2 hours.  Members $2.00, non-members $4.00.  An ice cream sundae is included.


Friday, April 12:  Monthly planning meeting and social hour at Lehigh Valley Active Life, 1:30 p.m. in room 106.  Newcomers are always welcome.


Thursday, April 18:  Fun and Games session, 2-3:30 p.m. at LVAL room 106.  Come and play some games.  Bring what you have and we’ll decide what to play: Telestration, Five Crowns, Quiddler, Chinese Checkers, etc.  It’s not about winning; it’s about having fun.  Optional: lunch at 12:30 p.m. at Nostos Greek Restaurant¸19th and Tilghman Sts. in  Allentown (used to be Saylor’s).  RSVP by Wednesday regarding both lunch and games.


Wednesday, April 24:  The second noon movie at LVAL is “Let There Be Light.”  When a near-death experience challenges the simplest assumptions of the world’s most famous atheist, the lonely soul and lousy part-time dad finds new purpose in life.  Drama.  PG-13.  1 hr. 40 min.  Members $2.00, non-members $4.00.  An ice cream sundae is included.


Thursday, April 25:  Bowling at Haja Rose Bowl, 801 N. 15th Street, Allentown, at 1 p.m.   $5.00 provides for use of a ball, shoe rental, two games of bowling, a hot dog and a beverage.  We bowl for fun only.  No prior experience is necessary.


Sunday, April 28:  Leisurely walk at the Fish Hatchery in Allentown, meeting in the parking lot at 2:00 p.m.  Go east on Fish Hatchery Road, just south of the Lehigh Valley Hospital/Cedar Crest campus.  We will walk for 30 minutes and then turn back, allowing some time to feed the trout before leaving.  We will regroup at 3:30 p.m. for an early dinner at Carrabba’s Italian Grill on Cedar Crest Blvd. at the Hamilton Blvd. bypass in Allentown.  RSVP to Dori one day prior.
