Do you like to do things but not alone? The Singles Group is where you can join with others for all kinds of activities and fun events. Dori Wallace chairs the group. Her goal is to have two or more fun things to do each month. Regular planning meetings are held at the Center on the second Friday of each month at 1pm. Dori can be reached at 610-398-0142.

Saturday, February 2: Sip and Science at the DaVinci Science Center. Sample 8 2 oz. pours of locally brewed beer and wine with accompanying munchies, enjoy a lecture on artificial intelligence and its impact on our lives, as well as a hands-on exploration of the basics of robotics. Tickets purchased in person or on line at davincisciencecenter.org are $19.95, at the door Saturday evening $29.95. Contact Dori for additional information.
Friday, February 8: Monthly planning meeting and social hour at Lehigh Valley Active Life, 1:30 p.m. in room 106. Newcomers are always welcome. Shall we celebrate Valentine’s Day?
Monday, February 11: The Senior Science program at the DaVinci Science Center this month, presented by St. Luke’s University Health Network, is entitled “Dermatology Overview: Learn about Spots, Bumps and Lumps.” Given the age of our skin, this information is essential for our wellbeing. The lecture is 1:00-2:00 p.m. and light refreshments are provided. Located on the campus of Cedar Crest College in Allentown, it is the building with the wind turbine.
Wednesday, February 13: The noon movie at LVAL is the Mr. Rogers biopic, “Won’t You Be My Neighbor.” PG 13. 1 hr., 30 minutes. Members $2.00, non-members $4.00. An ice cream sundae is included.
Sunday, February 17: Dinner 3:00 p.m. at Gourmet Buffet, Hamilton Blvd. bypass and Cedar Crest Blvd. in Allentown. There is a discount for seniors. RSVP to Dori one day prior or sooner.
Thursday, February 21: Fun and Games session, 2-3:30 p.m. at LVAL room 106. Come and play some games. Bring what you have and we’ll decide what to play: Telestration, Five Crowns, Quiddler, Chinese Checkers, etc. It’s not about winning; it’s about having fun. Optional: lunch at 12:30 p.m. at Wert’s Café, 515 N. 18th St., 1 ½ blocks south of Tilghman St., Allentown. RSVP to Dori by Wednesday regarding both lunch and games.
Wednesday, February 27: The second noon movie at LVAL is “The Leisure Seeker.” A romance/adventure involving a runaway couple in an RV who journey from Boston to the Key West home of Ernest Hemingway, recapturing their love and passion for life. Rated R. 1 hr. 52 min. Members $2.00, non-members $4.00. An ice cream sundae is included.
Thursday, February 28: Bowling at Haja Rose Bowl, 801 N. 15th Street, Allentown, at 1 p.m. $5.00 provides for use of a ball, shoe rental, two games of bowling, a hot dog and a beverage. We bowl for fun only. No prior experience is necessary.
