Do you like to do things but not alone? The Singles Group is where you can join with others for all kinds of activities and fun events. Dori Wallace chairs the group. Her goal is to have two or more fun things to do each month. Regular planning meetings are held at the Center on the second Friday of each month at 1pm. Dori can be reached at 610-398-0142.

Friday, June 9: Monthly planning meeting and social hour at Lehigh Valley Active Life at 1:30 p.m. in room 106. Newcomers are always welcome.
Wednesday, FLAG DAY, June 14: The noon movie at LVAL is “Anthropoid,” based on the true story of a 1941 mission by two Czech soldiers to assassinate Nazi SS General Reinhard Heydrich. Members $2.00, non-members $4.00. An ice cream sundae is included
Also on June 14 1:00-3:00 p.m., the LVAL Performance Groups will be entertaining with their Salute to the Flag at the Scottish Rite Cathedral, 1533 Hamilton Street, Allentown. Free for LVAL members, $6.00 non-members.
Saturday, June 17: Join us for lunch at noon atthe Hamilton Family Restaurant, 2027 Hamilton Street, Allentown, after which we will relocate to nearby, beautiful West Park, 16th and Turner Streets for Art-in-the-Park to enjoy the 1:30 p.m. concert by the Allentown Band. There is permanent seating in front of the band shell. We will gather at the historic fountain in the center of the park at approximately 1:15 p.m. so that we can sit together for the concert, after which we will stroll the tree-shaded paved walks and enjoy fine arts and crafts by 70+ juried artists from PA and NJ. In the event of rain, the exhibitors will be relocated to the Masonic Temple on Linden Street, adjacent to the park. RSVP to Dori regarding the restaurant as well as the park by 10:30 the day of the activity.
Thursday, June 22: Bowling at Haja Rose Bowl, 801 N. 15th Street, Allentown, at 1 p.m. $6.00 provides for use of a ball, shoe rental, two games of bowling, a hot dog and a beverage. We bowl for fun only. No prior experience is necessary.
Tuesday, June 27: Fun and Games session, 2-3:30 p.m. at LVAL room 102. Come and play some games. Bring what you have and we’ll decide what to play: Telestration, Five Crowns, Scrabble, Dominoes, etc. It’s not about winning; it’s about having fun. Prior lunch to be determined.
Wednesday, June 28: The second LVAL noon movie this month is “Elsa and Fred,” a drama/romance set in New Orleans starring Shirley MacLaine as a feisty retiree and Christopher Plummer as an uptight widower. Members $2.00, non-members $4.00. An ice cream sundae is included.
